Are you an outstanding Pisay teacher?: Nominations for Cleofe M. Bacuñgan Natatanging Guro Award to open in May
The Philippine Science High School System (PSHS) has announced the launch of Cleofe M. Bacuñgan Natatanging Guro (CMB NG) Award 2021 to recognize outstanding teachers in Pisay.
The award was launched by the PSHS Alumni Foundation.
"The PSHS teachers across the country have worked passionately to perform their duties and collaborated to overcome the birth pains of the stressful transition. They have proven to be the backbone of Pisay education. They are committed to deliver beyond the minimum requirements of service during the COVID-19 pandemic given the difficulties and uncertainties it caused," said PSHS Executive Director Lilia T. Habacon as she thanked the PSHS Foundation for its unwavering support to 16 Pisay campuses.

Under the guidelines, the CMB NG Award may be given to an outstanding teacher in the PSHS from each of the following three clusters: Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
A faculty member, student, alumnus, or staff member of the PSHS System may nominate any qualified faculty member, using the Natatanging Guro Nomination Form. The form can be downloaded from the PSHS Foundation website.
"Endorsements aside from the letter of the nominator will not be entertained,” read the PSHS statement.

"Nominees must currently be a full-time and permanent faculty member of the PSHS System for at least years and must have been in active service in the PSHS System for the preceding four academic years (from Academic Year (AY) 2017-2018; AY 2018-2019; AY 2019-2020; to AY 2020-2021),” it said.
"Moreover, nominees have taught at least two sections or two subjects for the past academic year and must not been found guilty of any administrative or disciplinary charge, must not have any pending administrative or disciplinary charge and must not have any pending criminal case,” it added.
The PSHS said nominees must be of good moral standing as certified by the Campus Director, Chaplain or respective Parish Priest or respective Barangay Chairman.
