RENEJAY stars as Nexplay exacts revenge against Laus Playbook

Despite all the distractions this past week, Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcarse proved that he's one of the steadiest players in the MPL Philippines.

RENEJAY willed Nexplay Esports to a vengeful reverse 2-1 sweep over Laus Playbook Esports in Season 7 on Saturday night, April 24.

The 18-year-old gold laner, who became the talk of the town after getting involved in a relationship issue, did not play in the series opener but emerged as the X-factor in the next two games.

RENEJAY on his Claude came out to play in Game 2 and teamed up with Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera's Akai to lift NXP out of an early 7K gold deficit and into a 17-8 win in 17 minutes.

Yawi came up with multiple perfect initiations with his Thousand Pounder or Flicker into Hurricane Dance combo to lock down enemies while RENEJAY dealt the heavy damage with his Blazing Duet.

RENEJAY on his signature Chou then came through with crucial pickoffs and good positioning around the map as NXP shut down LPE's feeding Diggie strategy.

After LPE gave up the Luminous Lord, RENEJAY spearheaded NXP's Base siege as he picked off Jay "JAKE THE DOG" Lapitan's Alice to seal the 38-5 rout in 17 minutes.

Yawi also shone bright on his Jawhead (6-0-17 kill-death-assist) as well as rookie mage user Lance "LanceCy" Cunanan on his Lunox (9-1-15)

Coach and popular streamer Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio's squad exacted revenge for its 2-1 defeat to coach Brian "Panda' Lim's team back in the opening week.

NXP also surpassed rival Execration at No. 3 with its second straight series win and third overall against five losses for 10 points.

LPE, which lost momentum after its 19-6 Game 1 victory behind Joshua "Aspect" Tating's Harley (9-0-3), remained at the bottom of the group with five markers on a 2-4 card.
