A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental on Saturday morning, April 24,

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the tectonic quake was plotted 133 kilometers (km) southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The state seismology bureau said the offshore temblor occurred at 7:09 a.m. and had a shallow depth of focus of 11 km.
As of writing, no intensity was reported as the quake was likely unfelt in the mainland.
According to Phivolcs, no damage or aftershocks expected following the quake.
A few hours earlier, a 4.9 quake rocked waters off the coast of Sarangani at 2:45 a.m.
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the tectonic quake was located 96 km southeast of Sarangani, and had a shallow depth of focus of 1 km.
No intensity was reported.
Likewise, Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks expected after the quake.
