The hottest and latest Filipino podcasts to listen to today

Eight new homegrown titles have made it to one of the biggest audio streaming platforms this month

Podcast is now a cultural staple. The market for it in the Philippines, in fact, is growing at a steady rate. And with the increase in demand for these pre-recorded talk shows, more local podcasters are cropping up.

People are really listening and want to consume all of the content that is there and available. There is a level of dedication that comes from podcast listeners that you don’t otherwise find. And now the numbers prove it. Podcasts aren’t a bubble, they’re a boom—and that boom is only getting louder.

Among the world’s most popular media services, Spotify, expands its localized podcast offerings by recently partnering up with Filipino content producers. These new programs made for Pinoy audiences are part of the brand’s commitment to drive the further growth of the podcast scene in the Philippines.

“We’re seeing an increased demand for podcast content in the Philippines. Following our series of originals launched in February this year, we are thrilled to expand our Exclusive podcast offering in the Philippines, working with more local podcasters to tell their stories, create content that matters, and connect with listeners in the most intimate way,” explains Spotify head of studios for Southeast Asia, Carl Zuzarte.

What’s interesting is that most of the new exclusives fall under true crime and horror categories—least explored genres by content creators in the country. Check them out.

'Wag Kang Lilingon

These two girls have an enduring fascination for the weird and strange. Grace Marcellana and Mimai Cabugnason dive deep into a world of hair-raising and spine-tingling tales of horror, mystery, true crime, and suspense.

Skypodcast

Kryz Uy, whose content creation journey has gone from blogging, to social media, to vlogging, gets in a podcast with her husband Slater Young. Get to know the couple through unplugged and unfiltered conversations that tackle anything and everything under the sun, from relationships, to family, to memorable misadventures, and even the beauty of spacing out. 

Paano Ba ‘To The Podcast

Television host and model, Bianca Gonzalez, answers letters from listeners asking for advice on life, career, romance, and self-love, in hopes of helping people solve or at the very least cope with these problems better.

Creepsilog

Gideon Mendoza and Glenn Tabarejos hosts this program that focuses on a series of strange phenomena including creepy paranormal events as well as disturbing occurrences with a dash of true crime and classic Filipino light humor.

Punchline with Alex Calleja

Actor and stand-up comedian Alex Calleja discusses the world of showbiz and comedy together with special guests who share their own funny stories.

Lecheng Pag-ibig ‘To!

“We’re able to remind listeners that sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows,” says Sam YG, who along with DJ Chacha covers stories on love, relationships, and everything in between in this new podcast.

Gabi ng Bading

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) advocates and close friends AC Soriano and Yani Villarosa provide a fresh perspective on topics and current events that matter to the LGBTQ community in the Philippines.

Stories After Dark

Chilling and in-depth retelling of Filipino true crime stories from recent events to decades-old unsolved mysteries. This narrative-based, investigative podcast brings detailed and intimate storytelling to listeners.
