On Earth Day, PH Coast Guard collects 4 tons of garbage in Cavite clean-up drive

In celebration of Earth Day 2021, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a coastal clean-up drive in Tanza, Cavite on Thursday, April 22, where they collected four tons of garbage.

The PCG shared in a Facebook post several photos of Coast Guard Station Cavite personnel who participated in the clean-up drive along the coast of Barangay Capipisa.

The clean-up was held in cooperation with the employees of the Cavite Gateway Terminal.

The PCG said most of the collected garbage were plastic, glass bottles, and tattered clothes.

The PCG Station Cavite said it will continue to conduct coastal clean-up drives and other marine environmental protection initiatives to preserve the country's natural resources amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Earth Day is an annual celebration held on April 22 to demonstrate support and raise awareness about the different environmental protection initiatives that are being taken to protect the planet from human's harmful activities.
