DOH to issue guidelines before start of A4 priority group vaccination
The Department of Health (DOH) will issue guidelines before the inoculation of essential workers under A4 priority group against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) can start.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the DOH and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. met with the private sectors on April 22 to discuss the guidelines for the vaccination.

She noted that the guidelines are currently being crafted in coordination with the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG).
“We are drafting the guidelines right now,” Vergeire said in a virtual press briefing Friday, April 23. “We will soon be issuing this.”
Those under the A4 priority group are essential workers such as market vendors, government workers, media worker, and other frontliners highly exposed to the threat of COVID-19.
The health official stressed that the government has yet to start the inoculation of frontline workers under A4 priority group.
“Kailangan lang natin ipaliwanag uli at ipagbigay alam sa ating mga kababayan, hindi pa naguumpisa ang A4 natin na pagbabakuna (We need to explain again and let the people know, our A4 vaccination has not yet started),” Vergeire said.
“So nandun pa rin tayo sa simultaneous vaccinations ng A1 to A3 (So we are still with the simultaneous vaccinations of A1 to A3),” she added.
The government have been vaccinating healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and people with comorbidity (A3).
As of April 20, the Philippines has vaccinated 1,353,107 Filipinos using Chinese-made CoronaVac vaccines and AstraZeneca shots from the COVAX facility.
Of the number, 989,703 are healthcare workers, 165,374 are senior citizens, while 198,030 are persons with comorbidity. #
