A 4.3-magnitude quake struck a town in Agusan del Sur shortly after Friday evening, April 23.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake occurred at 6:39 p.m. and originated 24 kilometers southeast of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.
The quake was felt at Intensity IV as a "moderately strong" shaking in Rosario, Agusan del Sur.

Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic in origin, which means the tremor was caused by the movement of an active fault in the area.
Moreover, it was shallow at a depth of seven kilometers thus the strong shaking.
Phivolcs does not expect damage to property nor aftershocks to occur.
