Regine Velasquez-Alcasid surprises fans with free online birthday concert, encourages public to support community pantry

OPM icons Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Ogie Alcasid encouraged everyone to support the community pantries which have been a big help to the needy during the pandemic.

On Facebook April 22, Regine and Ogie paid tribute to Ana Patricia Non whose concept of community pantry has become an inspiration for many people to do the same.

"Nakakatuwa dahil nagtutulungan tayong lahat. Wala po sa laki or liit ng tulong ito. Ang tulong po is tulong," said Regine who surprised fans with a free online concert on the occasion of her birthday today, April 22.

Ogie said that he is amazed at how community pantry organizers have touched others.

"And this is happening right now sa buong Pilipinas. It's a beautiful thing. All of us are sharing," he said.

Regine added: Kung may konting sobra lang po sila. We encourage you guys (to contribute). Kung ano man ang maitutulong ninyo, happy na tayo dun."

Later, Asia's Songbird dedicated the song "Five Loaves and Two Fishes" originally done by Corrine May to Ms. Non.

"It's one of my favorite songs and thank you Ana Patricia Non. Hindi lang kay Ms Non kundi pati na rin sa mga taong involve sa community pantry," Ogie said.
