Aura PH stymies pesky Cignal Ultra, stretches hot streak to four wins in MPL

Red-hot Aura PH staved off the spirited fightback from Cignal Ultra to post a swift 2-0 sweep and seize a four-game winning streak in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Thursday, April 22.Â

Aura methodically picked Cignal apart in the series opener before fending off the latter in the grueling second game behind Allen "Greed_" Baloy's brilliant Winter Truncheon bait play.

Aura remained on top of Group A with 14 points on a 5-1 series win-loss record midway through the regular season.

Cignal continued to struggle as it stayed winless in five matches at the cellar of the same group with only two markers to show.

EXP laner Ashley "Killuash" Cruz (Thamuz) returned in place of Chan "Rafflesia" Fajura and immediately made his presence felt in Game 1 while Cignal adjusted its lineup by assigning Arvie "Aquaboy" Antonio (Roger) as the jungler instead of Janus "JANUS" Badando (Alice) but still struggled.

Aura put on a clinical performance, pinning all the objectives to build up the lead and get its power spike at the right time en route to an easy 8-3 victory in 11 minutes.

Cignal took its turn to dictate the rhythm early in Game 2 through its team fight heavy draft anchored on Aquaboy's Granger, JANUS' Harith and Jefferson "Kekedot" Mogol's tank Chou.

However, Aura was able to drag it to n super late game wherein Greed pulled off a Winter Truncheon outplay, baiting Kekedot that resulted in his pickoff at the river area in the 31st minute.

Greed and company translated that crucial kill to a Luminous Lord and proceeded with the final push against the four-man Cignal.
