Ryan Cayabyab's 'nugget of wisdom' revealed

Ryan Cayabyab

Known as one of the greatest musical minds in the Philippines, Ryan Cayabyab has worked with numerous groups and artists that have also risen to have names of their own.

One of them is Jeffrey Hidalgo, a singer actor and director who has found initial success in the singing group Smokey Mountain. He shared the National Artist's advice to him when it comes to career.

"You have to enjoy what you are doing, because if you don't love your workâ€¦ it will always feel like work.

"So that is how I feel when I stream, and pagnagshu shoot ako ng teleserye masaya ako, kasi being a director? My favorite place is on the site, and hindi pa ako nakakapag-direct ng drama since nag-pandemic," he added.

The band lasted for six years, and are known for their timeless hits "Paraiso," "Da Coconut Nut," "Hideaway," to name a few.

Smokey Mountain

To this day, Jeffrey said that he keeps in touch with his former band members.

"Even then until now, kami talaga yung mag bestfriend ni Geneva, pero kapag magkakasama kami nina Tony and James pero kapag nagkakasama yung originalâ€¦ parang walang oras," he ended.
