LOOK: Former Miss Universe Margie Moran recalls PH homecoming in 1973

Margie Moran inspires a new generation of beauty queens as she shared her experiences after coming home from winning the Miss Universe crown 48 years.

Last Tuesday, Moran posted a series of old photos captioned: "My arrival in 1973. Gosh these photos seemed ancient. This route of the motorcade took me from Manila International Airport to Roxas Blvd. passing by Manila City Hall, Escolta, Malacañang ending at Hilton Hotel where I was billeted."

Aside from being a peace advocate, former President of the Ballet Philippines and incumbent chair of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Moran, now 67, will forever be known as the second Filipina to win the sought after, Miss Universe crown back in 1973.
