K-pop star Kang Daniel's 'Yellow' tops weekly album chart with 300,000 copies sold

K-pop star and former Wanna One member Kang Daniel captured the No. 1 spot on the weekly physical album chart with his latest release “Yellow.”

“Yellow,” released on April 13, is the last of the 24-year-old singer’s color series after releasing “Cyan” and “Magenta” last year. According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Yellow” bagged first place on the weekly physical album chart, selling 300,511 copies for the period April 12 to 18. It sold 229,795 copies on the first day of release on April 13.

EXO member Baekhyun’s “Bambi” album placed second with 95,844 copies sold followed by SHINee’s “Atlantis” with 64,452; Mamamoo member Wheein’s “Redd” with 41,830; and WINNER member Yoon’s “Page” with 17,968.

“(The EP) has been in the planning for a long time and is like a diary that holds things I’ve been wanting to say,” said Kang Daniel about “Yellow” at a press conference for his album, according to the Korea Herald.

He added, “After ‘Magenta,’ I wanted to mature in terms of music. Now I’d want to show ‘completion;’”

Here are the top 20 best-selling albums in Korea based on Hanteo’s weekly physical album chart from April 12 to 18:
