Beemo comes up clutch as LPE shocks Omega, returns to MPL win column

Versatile veteran Ian "Beemo" Sergio came through with a clutch backdoor play as Laus Playbook Esports stunned Smart Omega, 2-1, to get back on the winning track in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Saturday night, April 17.

Beemo on his Benedetta sneaked his way from the bottom lane and slowly chipped away at Omega's Base as the two squads were duking it out for the Luminous Lord in the 17th minute.

Nowee "Ryota" Macasan's Barats dealt the final hit to the most important structure of the game to seal the shocking victory for LPE against the double marksman-powered Omega.

The squad of SEA Games gold winning coach Brian "Panda" Lim finally climbed out of its slump as it snapped a three-game losing skid.

LPE hiked its tally to four points on a 2-3 series win-loss record although it remained at the bottom of Group B.

Despite the defeat, Omega broke its deadlock with Nexplay Esports at No. 3 in the same group by improving to seven points (2-2).

Beemo on his tank Grock came through with massive Wild Charges even as Arvin "Arvs" Bacayan on his Luo Yi dished out well-placed Dispersion and Rotation combos to burst down Omega heroes and lead LPE to an 11-minute 14-9 win in Game 1.

But Omega struck back harder in Game 2 as Salic "Hadjizy" Imam's Granger and Jankurt "KurtTzy" Matira's Yve powered their dominant 15-3 win in 11 minutes in Game 2.

It was a seesaw battle in Game 3 with Hadjizy's Granger and Adrian "Toshi" Bacallo's Beatrix keeping Omega in the thick of things only for Beemo to frustrate them with his game-winning play.
