Red-hot Work AF makes short work of Cignal

Work Auster Force was simply too hot to handle for Cignal Ultra as the league rookie team took a 2-0 sweep to stretch its winning streak and remain on top of Group A in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Friday, April 16. 

Work banked on Patrick "rTzy" Grecia's Selena to cruise to a swift victory in the series opener before staving off the hard-fighting Cignal behind Frediemar "3MarTzy" Serafico's Benedetta in the second game.

The Laurence "Lift" Ruiz-coached MPL greenhorn scored a third straight win and a second consecutive sweep this week after stunning Onic PH highlighted by a 37-minute win in Game 2 on Thursday.

Work also tightened its grip of the lead with nine points on a 3-1 series win-loss record in Group A that features powerhouse teams Bren Esports, Onic and Aura.

Cignal remained winless in the same group as it also suffered a 2-0 sweep to Smart Omega in its season debut on Thursday.

Work punished Cignal's glass cannon draft in Game 1 as Patrick "rTzy" Grecia's Selena provided vision with the Abyssal Traps to secure map control for his team.

There was not stopping rTzy and company from dictating the tempo right from the get-go en route to an easy 12-minute victory with a 14-9 scoreline.

Work was so dominant that Cignal failed to take down even a single tower.

Cignal showed some signs of life in Game 2 as it up a better fight anchored on Janus "JANUS" Badando's Lancelot.

But 3MarTzy on his Benedetta spearheaded a 4-1 exchange for Work in the 12th minute that resulted in a Luminous Lord take and a 16-11 triumph two minutes later.
