Execration smothers struggling LPE to snatch group lead

Sustaining the momentum from its huge victory a day prior, Execration came through with a 2-0 sweep of Laus Playbook Esports to steal the lead in Group B of the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Friday, April 16. 

Execration first went to its "Double K Connection" of Kiel VJ "Kielvj" Hernandez and Duane "Kelra" Pillas then used its early game prowess to the fullest in closing out the series. 

Billy "Z4pnu" Alfonso's crew posted a fitting follow-up to its massive 2-1 win against bitter rival Nexplay Esports on Friday. 

With the back-to-back victories, Execration improved to nine points (3-2 win-loss series record) and snatched the Group B lead away from idle Blacklist International. 

On the other hand, LPE's woes continued as it suffered its third consecutive defeat and remained at the Group B cellar with two points (1-3 series record). 

Coach Brian "Panda" Lim's team absorbed back-to-back sweeps to Blacklist and Onic PH prior to the lengthy break. 

It was a close contest in the early stages of Game 1 but Execration's "Double K Connection" of star jungler Kielvj on his Ling and super rookie gold laner Kelra on his Alice eventually took over. 

The two young standouts led Exe to a clinical 23-10 win in 20 minutes as the rest of the team choked Playbook's core Joshua "Aspect" Tating on his Roger who didn't get a single kill and died eight times. 

Execration then came up with a perfect execution of its early game-oriented draft to finish off LPE, 14-6, in just 12 minutes in Game 2. 

Kielvj was a monster on his Granger as he put up a flawless record of five kills and six assists while captain Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic on his Lunox provided the magic burst to chalk six kills and five assists against a lone death.
