Aura obliterates Onic in first El Clasico of MPL Season 7

Aura PH stood taller against old rival Onic PH in their first El Clasico matchup in the MPL Philippines Season 7, posting a 2-0 sweep to wrest the solo second spot in their group on Friday night, April 16.

Aura flaunted its mastery of its signature feeding Diggie strategy in the first game before its "AngeLing" and Natalia picks paid off in the crunch time of the second game.

The Seasons 4 and 5 champion team broke the deadlock with the two-time runner-up at No. 2 in Group A as Aura improved to eight points (3-1 series win-loss record) behind Work Auster Force.

Onic fell to No. 3 still with five points and suffered a second straight sweep after losing 2-0 to Work on Thursday.

Aura brought out its infamous feeding Diggie strat at the hands of Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz, taking over map control and easily securing objectives in Game 1.

Jaypee's shenanigans enabled Mark "LORD HADESS" Lazaro's Yi Sun-shin and Allen "Greed_" Baloy's Lunox to buy their core items and carry Aura to a 16-minute victory with an 11K gold lead at the end.

Onic enjoyed early advantage by bagging all three Turtle takes but Aura managed to claw its way back with Greed's Natalia providing space and vital information for Aura.

Following a pickoff on Christian "Iy4knu" Manaog's Chou led by the "AngeLing" combo of Jaypee and Lord Hadess with the help of Greed, Aura got the Luminous Lord in the 14th minute.

With the momentum on their side, the boys of coaches Michael Angelo "Arcadia" Bocado and Steven "DaleDalus" Vitug cruised to a 20-15 comeback win in 20 minutes.
