Munzon excited to face PBA's top guards

Joshua Munzon is looking forward to the challenge of matching up with some of the PBA’s elite guards once the pro league’s 46th season can get underway.

The No. 1 overall pick of Terrafirma said that taking on the likes of Stanley Pringle, CJ Perez, RR Pogoy and Chris Newsome, among others, will be a great learning tool for his maiden PBA campaign.

“I think every team has top guards so I think every night is gonna be a fun night,” Munzon said in a recent episode of The Huddle which aired on PBA Rush.

Munzon, however, will have to wait longer before he gets that chance since due to uncertainty of the PBA’s season opener which has been delayed due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.

The Fil-American guard is projected to eventually become one of the future stars in the league given his reputation as a natural scorer in the ASEAN Basketball League, PBA D-League and the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3.

But in order to meet those high expectations, Munzon will have to prove that he can prove his worth in a bigger level opposite those players he mentioned.

“Matching up with those guys is gonna be competitive and I’m gonna learn a lot playing against the vets, and ultimately seeing how I match up against those guys,” he said.
