Former President Joseph Estrada tests negative for COVID-19

Always a fighter, former President Joseph Estrada is now cleared from the deadly COVID-19 virus.

“We are happy to announce that my dad continues to improve and we expect that he can be transferred to a regular room soon,” his son, Jinggoy said in an online statement.

Now on a soft diet, and still in "high oxygen" levels. Jinggoy also assured the public that his dad is in good spirits.

“Again, we thank everyone for their continuous support and love and ask that you continue to pray for him and others who are afflicted with this awful and dreaded disease. Thank you so much,” he ended.

Last month, the former president made headlines after being rushed to the hospital when he was tested positive for the virus.

Erap will turn 84 on April 19.
