K-pop superstars and Grammy nominees BTS have achieved another feat when their  “Dynamite” music video reached one billion views on YouTube.

“Dynamite” garnered one billion views on April 12, or nearly eight months since it was uploaded on YouTube on Aug. 21, 2020.

This is BTS’ third music video on YouTube to accumulate one billion views. Their first was “DNA,” which reached the milestone on June 1, 2020, or two years and eight months after it was released on Sept. 18, 2017. This made BTS the first K-pop boy band to have a single music video with 1 billion views.

The second was the “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey music video, which recorded one billion views on Oct. 24, 2020, or 18 months following its release on April 12, 2019.

“Dynamite” holds the distinction of setting a new record for the biggest music video debut. It became the No. 1 most viewed music video in the first 24 hours of release, garnering 101.1 million views.

The music video set four Guinness World Records titles for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group and as belatedly announced last March, for the biggest YouTube Premiere with over 3 million viewers.

YouTube confirmed Manila Bulletin on Aug. 22, 2020 that “Dynamite” set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere with viewers of over 3 million peak concurrents.
