LeBron James continues 'I Promise' advocacy through 'Space Jam'

NBA superstar LeBron James continues his philanthropy and advocacy through his new film "Space Jam: A New Legacy."

The Los Angeles Lakers icon, who runs the LeBron James Family Foundation, has launched the "Space Jam" versions of his signature I Promise wristbands with four different designs.

Four variants - namely Tune, Squad, Goon, and Looney -- are available for purchase and all proceeds will be handed to the LeBron James Family Foundation's supports and initiatives.

In the trailer and one of the film's posters, the 36-year-old James can also be seen wearing an I Promise band.

The LeBron James Family Foundation, which was founded in 2004, has been on a mission to help the youth and families in his beloved hometown Akron, Ohio through education and co-curricular activities.

In 2018, the LeBron James Family Foundation partnered with the Akron Public Schools to build the I PROMISE School, the foundation's educational system which grants a new model for urban and public service.

"In August of 2011, an important promise was made in Akron, Ohio. 342 Akron Public Schools third grade students made a promise to their hero," an excerpt about the I Promise band read on James' official website. "They promised him they would go to school, be respectful to their parents, teachers and peers, be active and make good decisions. In return, he promised them that he would be the best role model he could be, on and off the court."
