BTS' 'Bang Bang Con' concert streaming event returns to YouTube

K-pop superstars BTS’ highly successful concert streaming event “Bang Bang Con” will return after a year. 

BTS announced that this year’s “Bang Bang Con 21” will happen on April 17,  3 p.m. Korea time (2 p.m. in the Philippines), on their official YouTube channel “BangtanTV” (https://www.youtube.com/user/BANGTANTV).

They held the first “Bang Bang Con” livestream concert last year amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic that resulted in millions of people staying at home. At the time, in person concerts were cancelled as social distancing measures were implemented. 

Held from April 18 and 19 last year, the first “Bang Bang Con” showcased BTS’ past concerts. The first day played the 2015 BTS LIVE “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life on Stage,” 2016 BTS LIVE “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life on Stage: Epilogue,” BTS 2014 Live Trilogy “Episode II: The Red Bullet” and BTS’ 3rd Muster. 

Some of the performances included “No More Dream,” “Attack on BTS,” “House Of Cards,” “Danger,” “Dope,” “Boy In Luv,” “Fire,” and “I Need U.” 

On the second day on April 19, the livestream event showcased the 2017 BTS Live Trilogy “Episode III: The Wings Tour In Seoul,” 2017 Trilogy “Episode III: The Wings Tour The Final,” BTS 4th Muster and BTS World Tour “Love Yourself” Seoul.

The two-day online concert event was played for about 24 hours, garnering 50.5 million views and attracting 2.24 million concurrent viewers.

In addition, 500,000 of BTS’ official light sticks were connected via the Weverse app, coming from 162 regions in the world. 

On social media, the hashtag “#BangBangCon” garnered 6.46 million mentions on Weverse and Twitter.
