Mixed martial arts veteran Yoshihiro Akiyama has pulled out of his ONE on TNT IV bout against Team Lakay's Eduard Folayang due to injuries.
In a recent social media post, Akiyama revealed that he suffered a complete tear in his ligaments and bicep muscles during training camp, prompting him to be sidelined in ONE Championship's US prime time debut.
The 45-year-old Akiyama felt sorry to all the fans and Folayang and vowed to recover and come back as a "better fighter."
"And I am not done yet! I will still challenge and do my best! And to show!" wrote the seasoned Japanese-Korean fighter.
Folayang, on the other hand, is currently under observation after his teammates Lito Adiwang and Stephen Loman recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Adiwang and Loman were also pulled out of their respective ONE on TNT cards.
Meanwhile, ONE Championship strawweight king Joshua Pacio revealed in a short clip shown on a livestream collaboration that he is also in isolation.
"nfortunately due to some health precautions, I'm here in home doing self-quarantine and it's hard but y'know, I don't want to put my teammates' health at risk so you guys enjoy the show, enjoy the stream," said Pacio.
ONE Championship has yet to announce if Folayang is good to go for ONE on TNT IV on April 29. (Carlo Anolin)
