BTS becomes first Korean act to get nominated at BRIT Awards

The nominees for the BRIT Awards 2021 were announced on March 31 by Nick Grimshaw and BRITs Rising Star winner Griff.

K-pop superstars BTS received their first ever nomination at the BRITs. They are nominated for International Group along with Run the Jewels, Fontaines D.C., Foo Fighters and Haim.

“They are the first Korean act to be nominated for a BRIT Award and their hit 'Dynamite' hit 7.8 million first-day streams on the global Spotify chart, 'Dynamite' also surpassed Taylor Swift's 'Cardigan' as the biggest global song debut of 2020,” according to the BRIT Awards.

BTS earlier became the first K-pop act to be nominated for a Grammy Award. They were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song “Dynamite” at the 63rd Grammy Awards held last month.

The BRIT Awards 2021 will be held on May 11 at The O2 arena in London and will be broadcast on ITV and ITV Hub, and hosted by Jack Whitehall.
