Cultivating Pinoy artistry through this full digital event
The pandemic is slowing global commerce to a crawl. Just a couple of weeks in after the deadly virus was first discovered, and the world had already plummeted into a recession as severe as that of the 2008 financial crisis. In the Philippines, like in other countries, economic and social activities have taken a downturn. The health emergency, likewise, expedited the transition to the digital era.
In support of this year’s very first Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) International Furniture & Furnishings Show VX 2021 (AIFFS VX), the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is presenting 10 Filipino brands for the digital edition of AIFFS, an event headed by the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP).
Embodying the best of our local workmanship in the lifestyle and home sectors at AIFFS are exhibitors from the digital trade and community platform, FAME+. The brands are Acento Colleccions, E. Murio, Enpekei International, Goltrio, Junk Not, La Galuche, Mejore, Obra Cebuana, Prizmic & Brill, and Stonesets International, all of which have proven their commitment to honor Filipino culture through quality crafts and designs.

FAME+ is CITEM’s response to the rapidly evolving and digitizing demands of export and trade. The digital trade avenue increases the discoverability and searchability of its over 200 designers and brands from the home, fashion, and lifestyle (HFL) sectors to buyers and design enthusiasts around the globe.
Through its digital magazine Touchpoint, FAME+ tells the story of Philippine design excellence reflected in the materials, techniques, traditions, and people that produce these export products.
“A keen emphasis on technique, particularly material manipulation, and design sensibilities rooted in our proud heritage are just some of the Philippine-design signatures you can expect to see at AIFFS,” CITEM executive director Pauline Suaco-Juan says. “We’re looking forward to sharing the story of our great artisanal tradition with our ASEAN neighbors and with buyers and design aficionados all over the world.”
Organized by the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council (AFIC), the AIFFS is going to be hosted by the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines, Inc. (CFIP). The seven ASEAN countries—Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—are all participating.
Visitors can interact with exhibitors on the AIFSS VX online platform from March 9 to 12. Meanwhile, the exhibitor catalogues from March 13 to 18, 2021 can still be viewed. Register at www.aiffsvx.com. @DTI.CITEM | @CITEMPh
