Metro Manila assured of enough water supply for the summer

Metro Manila will have enough water supply for the summer season, the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) said Friday.

In an interview with DZMM, NWRB executive director, Dr. Sevillo David Jr., said the water level at the Angat Dam which is the major source of water supply in the metro is at 210.28 meters.

“Sa tingin natin sa lebel ngayon ng Angat Dam ay may sapat po tayong supply para matugunan ngayong summer po (We think, given the current water level at Angat Dam, we’ll have enough water supply for the summer),” David said.

David also said that Angat Dam's current water level is higher compared to last year at 202 meters.

Angat Dam’s minimum operating level is at 180 meters while its normal high water level is 210 meters.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last Feb. 2 announced that the country will experience its “dry season” only in March and April.
