Kim Chiu recalls ambush incident a year ago, thankful she's still alive

Kim Chiu has recently visited a church as she remembers the shooting incident she was embroiled in a year ago.

"3.4.2020 the day that I almost lost it without knowing the reason why? I am truly saved by his grace," Kim wrote.

According to Kim, since then her faith just grew stronger every day. "I woke up being extra grateful for this beautiful and colorful life he has given me."

Though it's been a year since the ambush, Kim admitted things still feel surreal for her.

"Pero lubos ang pasasalamat ko na andito parin ako. I lift everything in your mighty name. Maraming Salamat po," said she.

"Our faith in God and his control is measured by how courageous we are when we are put to different tests in life. Thank you, Father God. Salamat Po."

Recall that last year, two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen fired shots at the van of the actress while it was in front of a mall in Quezon City, while she was on the way to work.

A report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the incident happened around 6:15 a.m. Kim, her driver and a personal assistant were traveling along C.P. Garcia Ave. en route a shoot location when the gunmen suddenly appeared from behind after their car stopped at a traffic light. Then the masked men sprayed the vehicle with bullets before fleeing towards Katipunan Ave.

Despite the horrible experience, Kim showed professionalism by still proceeding to her scheduled taping then, which resulted in different rumors like the incident was "staged" or “fake."

Though, Kim immediately pointed out that she wouldn't risk their lives just for "publicity."

According to her, it was a case of "mistaken identity." In fact, she divulged that after the ambush, the "supposed target" tried to contact her and extended an "apology" for what happened.
