Jukebox Queens Imelda Papin, Eva Eugenio in tears as they remember Claire dela Fuente

Many celebrities are in shock with the passing of OPM icon Claire dela Fuente, including her closest friends fellow Jukebox Queens Eva Eugenio and Imelda Papin.

“Until now I'm really shocked dahil hindi ko akalain na iiwanan mo na kami,” said Imelda while in tears in a recent video she uploaded on her Facebook page.

“Nakakalungkot at sobrang sakit na malaman na isa na namang haligi sa industriya ng musikang Pilipino ang sumakabilang buhay. Lalo na at isang tao na napakalapit, tunay at tapat kong kaibigan sa loob at labas ng showbiz. Kailan lang, you were my guest during my 45th Showbiz Anniversary Concert at the Philippine Arena. Yon na pala ang last performance mo para sa aming lahat. I will miss you Mare."

On the other hand, Eva Eugenio listed down her and Claire's usual bonding activities she said she would miss as she took to social media to express grief over the passing of Claire.

“I will truly miss you, my dear friend. I will miss all our chikahan, laitan, tawanan at kantahan.

“Thank you for being a good friend, and a good God Mother to my daughter. Rest in Peace kumare. Jukebox Queens will not be complete without you,” she ended.

Dela Fuente rose to fame for her OPM hits: “Nakaw na Pag-Ibig," "Sayang" and “Minsan, Minsan,” to name a few.

She was also one of the “Jukebox Queens” along with fellow veteran singers Imelda Papin, Eva Eugenio and Didith Reyes back in the 70s.
