Jho Maraguinot turns pro, joins Perlas Spikers in PVL

Jho Maraguinot has decided to forego her unfinished final year with the Ateneo Lady Eagles by joining the Perlas Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League.

Team official Charo Soriano welcomed Maraguinot in a social media post Tuesday, March 30.

“Welcome to the Pearl Family, Jo!” Soriano posted on Twitter.

Soriano’s post came a few minutes after the team released a video showing Maraguinot behind Soriano and another Perlas official, Rye Sordan, hinting of the 25-year-old’s signing with the squad.

The team also confirmed this in a team video also posted on Twitter, addressing Maraguinot as their newest member.

Maraguinot has been a collegiate standout in the UAAP, helping Ateneo to a championship during her debut year in the 2014-2015 season.

Maraguinot will be joining fellow new recruits Cherry Nunag, Gel Cayuna, Thang Ponce, Jellie Tempiatura and Cza Carandang as the Perlas Spikers seek their first title in the league.

The Open Conference is scheduled late May.
