Homegrown fashion brand Aranaz is now available at Neiman Marcus

Even in a time of pandemic, there is no denying that Filipino fashion has what it takes to make it to the global stage

Since the beginning of community quarantine in the Philippines, business has been slow for many fashion brands. While e-commerce has paved a way for many to thrive in this time of crisis, the industry isn't as vibrant as it is before. That is why industry success and collection launches, no matter how small or big, deserves to be heard by many to keep inspiration going.

Today it is all about local fashion brand Aranáz being the latest brand to be showcased at the e-commerce site of American luxury department store Neiman Marcus. 

"On the bright side, happy to share that in spite of the year, we landed in a major stockist in 2020," Aranáz creative director Amina Aranaz-Alunan posted on Facebook. "For this we are thankful. Our SS21 Raw Start collection is now at Neiman Marcus."

Made by a skeleton team of artisans, the Raw Start collection is inspired by the sense of "going back to basics" brought by the pandemic. Created during the lockdown, the bags and accessories line features pieces crafted from raw building blocks and materials, taking "a more minimalist and organic tone… as we begin to restart and enter this new world."

Operating since 1907, Neiman Marcus has been among shopping destinations for the many kinds of fashionistas. It has carried many brands and designer labels, from Alexander McQueen, Prada, and Donna Karan to Balmain, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton. Aranáz latest inclusion to the list proves that even in our COVID times, Filipino brands and designers have what it takes to make it internationally.
