Caloocan City Councilor Howard A. Hernandez authored and co-authored by 1st District Councilor Vincent Ryan R. Malapitan and Majority floor leader Edgardo N. Aruelo proposed Ordinance No.11-146 Series of 2021, “declaring March 15, 2021 and every year thereafter as Caloocan City Frontliners Day.”

This is to honor the hard work and sacrifices of all frontliners to serve the people of the city.

Frontliners refer to all workers, medical practitioners, police, military personnel, city government officials, media personnel, and all who provided essential services during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period.

A program committee will be organized composed of representatives from Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Caloocan City, City Health Department, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office, Business Permit and Licensing Office, Barangay Secretariat, and City Youth Development Office.

“Kinikilala ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Lungsod ng Caloocan at ng lahat ng mamamayan ng siyudad ang kabayanihan ng mga frontliners. Kaya kahit sa simpleng paraan ay dapat silang mabigyan ng pagpupugay at parangal (The local government of Caloocan and all citizens of the city recognize the heroism of the frontliners. Even in the simplest way, they should be given honor and recognition),” Hernandez said.
