Taguig under ECQ: No liquor ban, outdoor exercise allowed

The Taguig City government has allowed outdoor exercise and liquor consumption, and will give “ayuda” or food packs to families under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) imposed by the national government in the NCR Plus bubble areas -- the National Capital Region, and the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite.

Under the guidelines, the Taguig Safe City Task Force said there will be no liquor ban in the city under ECQ.

Stores that have business permits from the city government will be allowed to sell liquor.

Drinking liquor is prohibited in convenience stores, groceries, supermarkets, and sari-sari stores.

Outdoor exercise will be allowed for 18 years old and above but they are required to wear face masks and observe the 5-meter physical distance from another person.

Mayor Lino Cayetano also announced that the city government will distribute “ayuda” or Stay-at-Home Food Packs to families in Taguig.

The other guidelines are:

  • Persons prohibited from going out of their homes are those 17 years old and below, 66 years old and above, pregnant, those with comorbidity and immunodeficiency, those without face masks and those without legitimate reasons
  • Only one member of a household will be allowed to go out to purchase essential goods including food and medicine
  • For those going out, they can use their unified quarantine pass or any valid government-issued ID to prove their place of residence, or QR code from the Taguig Registry for Access and City Engagement application
  • Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) including employees of allowed industries and those who will bring and fetch them from work are allowed to go out of their residence
  • Curfew is from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • 24/7 convenience stores, 24/7 pharmacies and food establishments for take-out and delivery are allowed to operate 24 hours a day
  • Inter-city movement, including buying essential goods and visiting families within the NCR Plus bubble areas are allowed
  • People can attend weddings and funerals within the NCR Plus bubble areas
