Neon Esports falls to Quincy Crew in Singapore Major debut

Filipino team OB.Neon Esports started its ONE Esports Singapore Major group stage campaign on the wrong foot as it suffered a 2-0 sweep against North American squad Quincy Crew on Monday, March 29.

Neon got off to an impressive start and even produced chances to win Game 1 only to bow down to carry Yawar "YawaR" Hassan's Wraith King with Divine Rapier in the late game.

Andrei "debil_2000" Ong (also known as Skem) seemed to have an easy time getting back to the carry role as his Death Prophet went "godlike" and finished with a 14-4-14 kill-death-assist record in the 45-minute defeat.

Stand-in offlaner Rafael "Rappy" Sicat Palo also impressed in his first game back with Neon with his Lycan posting an 11-4-16 K-D-A in a 41-29 scoreline in favor of the PH side.

It was one-sided Game 2 for Quincy Crew as 11K MMR midlaner Quinn "Quinn" Callahan's Razor spearheaded his team's relentless rampage to choke Skem's Alchemist.

QC crew picked off Skem's Alchemist along with Rappy's Void Spirit and Prieme "PlayHard" Maque's Earth Spirit to force the GG call from Neon with a 32-12 kill score in just 28 minutes.

Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer's mid Grimstroke didn't work out as he was not able to secure an Aghanim's Scepter that could have produced a Dark Portrait of YawaR's Terrorblade.

Neon is set to face the Chinese powerhouse teams Aster, Vici Gaming and PSG.LGD for its remaining matches today.

The top seven teams in the eight-squad group stage will advance to the playoffs of this year's first Major being hosted by ONE Esports and PGL.Â
