'My Hero Academia' new film gets its first teaser-trailer

For its 3rd full feature, it seems the anime will focus on its trio of heroes

Fans of ‘My Hero Academia’ (MHA or ‘Boku no Hero Academia’) got a double treat over the weekend with the premiere of its latest season and the release of the first teaser-trailer for its upcoming film, which was shared at a special panel for MHA at AnimeJapan 2021.

This new movie, the third in the MHA lineup, is dubbed “World Heroes’ Mission” and it seems to focus on the trio of Midoriya Izuku, Bakugo Katsuki, and Todoroki Shoto. This team-up was previously hinted in a teaser poster for the film that was released in 2020.

The teaser, which was released on Sunday, only seems to hint on some crisis involving Midoriya, as a clip shows that he’s been branded a wanted man. How that came about, we’re not yet sure. There also looks to be a new villain group for the film, a group that questions whether quirks (the superhero powers many are born with in the MHA world) are a good thing or not.

“My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission” will premiere in cinemas in Japan on August 6, 2021.
