LOOK! Samantha Bernardo soars as Philippine Eagle at Miss Grand Int'l 2020 national costume competition

Miss Philippines Samantha Bernardo wore a Philippine Eagle-inspired costume during the national costume competition at the Miss Grand International 2020 pre-pageant on Wednesday, March 24.

The national costume was inspired by our National Bird - The Philippine Eagle also known as the Monkey-Eating Eagle or Great Philippine Eagle.

It is considered the largest of the extant eagles in terms of length and wing surface, the rarest and most powerful birds in the world.

According to the Bb. Pilipinas Facebook on March 24, the national costume also intend to create awareness because the Philippine Eagle is critically endangered, mainly due to massive loss of habitat resulting from deforestation in most of its range.

Gold as the main color of the costume to represent the magnificent journey of our Queen.

And to pay homage to the MGI Golden Crown.

Just like gold it is extravagant, wealthy, rich and indestructible, like Samantha - A queen who never gave up on her dreams.

The grand finals of the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant will be held on Saturday, March 27.
