Investment insights from KathNiel's broker

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla learn saving tips from long-time friend and Daniel Padilla's fashion stylist Ton Lao

Attending real estate seminars as young as 12 years old, celebrity stylist Ton Lao knew the value of investing in primed lots. "It's proven and tested that if you invest in the right lots, you can earn from them in two to three years' time. It's the right time to invest, especially now," he tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle.

He has recommended quite a few lots to his celebrity clients, including Piolo Pascual, Catriona Gray, Sam Milby, Daniel Padilla, and Kathryn Bernardo. He recently accompanied the Kathniel pair and Kathryn's mom Min to the lot the couple recently purchased. Mommy Min took a short video of the three as they talked about future plans, to which Lao shared in his personal Facebook account.

Lao reveals, "I've known them since they were starting, 15 years old palang sila. I'm happy to see them grow up and make adult decision. Like DJ (Daniel), I'm really happy to be witness to his growth. Aside from being successful in showbiz, I can see that his has an interest in business and investments. It really makes me proud."

Mommy Min usually joins them in these road trips, and Lao attests, "Kathryn's mom is very open with investing. She's the one guiding DJ and Kath when it comes to investments. They're both very appreciative and thankful to Tita Min for opening their minds and giving them advice on how to invest."

Being friends for many years, it can be heard (and seen) in the video that they genuinely support each other—even pushing Ton to put up a YouTube account as a real estate broker. When asked why he posted it and what he loved about the short clip, his answer, "I love it when I see them as normal people. Simple joys, simple dreams, simple happiness."

And these joys can be gained through hard work and tips imparted by Lao. "What I learned during this pandemic is to work hard, don't waste your time doing nothing, spend your time wisely, always think of your future, and dream big because this will give you direction. Libre naman mantrap so why not dream big," he ends.
