Ben Adamos signed a two-year rookie contract with Alaska which selected him as the sixth overall pick in the recent PBA Draft.
The Aces made the announcement on their social media account Tuesday, March 23 by posting a photo showing Adamos with his agent Ed Ponceja and team governor Dickie Bachmann.
“We are excited to have him officially on board with Alaska. We believe with Ben’s talent combined with his work ethic, the sky’s the limit for him,” said Alaska coach Jeffrey Cariaso.
Terms were not disclosed but inking Adamos will be key in beefing up Alaska’s frontcourt for the upcoming 46th season.
Alaska selected the 6-foot-7 center in hopes of filling up the void left by Vic Manuel, who was shipped to Phoenix Super LPG last month.
Adamos had a solid NCAA career, first with San Beda where he won back-to-back championships in 2016 and 2017 before transferring to University of Perpetual Help and played his only season in 2019.
He also had a stint with Bacolod in the MPBL that same year, and was supposed to play out his final year of NCAA eligibility when the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Aces are still negotiating with their other picks, namely second rounders Taylor Browne and Alec Stockton and third round selection RK Ilagan.
Browne was picked up 16th overall by the Aces and Stockton 21st while Ilagan was chosen 31st.
