Rupert Grint expresses support to LGBT community

Rupert Grint had finally broken his silence on why he spoke up against J.K. Rowling's controversial statements.
Grint did this in a recent interview with Esquire.
"Sometimes, silence is even louder. I feel like I had to because T think it was important, I mean, I don't want to talk about all that… generally, I'm not an authority on the subject," Grint said.
But according to the "Harry Potter" star, he eventually stood up for the LGBT community out of kindness, respect and his beliefs.
"Just out of kindness and just respecting people. I think it's a valuable group of people that I think needs standing up for," Grint said.
Grint also said that he "firmly stands with the trans community" while highlighting his views that "trans women are women, and trans men are men" along with the importance of treating everyone with love and without judgement.
But despite all these, Rupert continues to admire Rowling for the brilliant author that she is, as he related, "I think that she's extremely talented and I mean, clearly, her works are genius… but yeah, I think also you can have huge respect for someone and still disagree with things like that."
J.K.Rowling, author of the highly-acclaimed "Harry Potter" novel series, made headlines after tweeting some cryptic posts that includes an article that stated: "'People who menstruate.'I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?"
Her gender identity-defying posts sparked a lot of backlash from the LGBT community.
The three stars of the "Harry Potter" series, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint also speak up to counter her statements.
