PBA player Aljon Mariano, beauty queen Kayesha Chua now engaged

PBA player Aljon Mariano and longtime girlfriend and beauty queen Kayesha Chua are now engaged.

The couple announced the development in their respective Instagram posts Saturday, March 20, but the actual proposal dates back from February 27 when they were on a vacation in El Nido.

"I asked the love of my life to marry me and be my forever!" wrote Mariano, accompanied with the ring and heart emojis and the hashtags #SheSaidYes #022721.

With the refreshing view of the beach gracing the background, Mariano goes down on one knee to pop the million-dollar question at the ANGKLA Beach Club & Resort.

"With you, I’ve always known exactly where we were going, it was just a matter of time, God’s perfect timing. And it absolutely was," said Chua for her part. "I am marrying the man God has destined me to be with my all kinds of love rolled into one person! My best-est friend with you all the way."

Fellow PBA stars LA Tenorio, Sol Mercado, Jeff Chan, Arvin Tolentino and Renzo Subido, among others, extended their congratulatory messages on the soon-to-be husband and wife.

Mariano and Chua's journey goes a long way back when the Ginebra forward was still playing as one of the key cogs for the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers in the UAAP.

It looks like 2021 has been good for Mariano so far after renewing his contract with the Kings.

Interestingly, teammate Scottie Thompson had also inked a fresh contract with Ginebra and got engaged to longtime girlfriend Pau Fajardo on New Year's Eve.
