Stream it or skip it: Four reasons to binge on 'Justice League Snyder Cut' this weekend

By now, half the Filipino population may have already seen the highly anticipated "Justice League Snyder Cut" which was made available to Pinoy fans through HBO GO.


However, if you’re one of those who are still hesitating to commit four hours and two minutes of your life to see a new version of a movie that you’ve seen in 2017, then perhaps these points might help you
decide.

  1. It’s an entirely new movie. True, there may be scenes that may seem familiar to you if you’ve seen Joss Whedon’s version of Justice League in 2017 but with never before scenes added into the film (some 2 hours more of it), Snyder’s version fleshes out the characters extensively and excellently sets them up as standalone superheroes capable of leading their own solo films.
  2. Easter eggs. If you’re a fan of the DCEU universe, you would be happy to know that the movie served up over a dozen easter eggs. From new characters that will jumpstart a new story arc, alternate timelines, and a proper set up for the upcoming DCEU films are part of four hour film.
    It opened up exciting new doors left and right, without regard for the fans’ heart rates. It’s the ultimate fan service, indeed.
  3. The fight scenes. The fight scenes in the Snyder Cut were nothing short of perfection. While there was a storm of slow motion scenes, as is the director’s style, the scenes were gritty, dark and breathtaking all at the same time.
  4. The consistency. From the first scene to the last, the Snyder Cut actively corrected all the things that critics complained about from the Whedon version. All the missing elements were finally put in place and things made more sense. Even if it took twice as long to tell the story, I would not doubt that fans would have willingly spent four hours of their time sitting in the theater, engrossed in what was unfolding in the cinema if it was possible.
