Makeup and fashion trends to watch out for this 2021
Fashion designer Happy Andrada shares insights on this year’s beauty trends
A few days for now we will already mark the first anniversary of nationwide lockdown imposed last March 15, 2020 to fight COVID-19. And as we are all adjusting to this new reality of covering our faces with face masks, what’s the better way to do it but with runway style fashion sense?
During the recently held launch of Ready Set Glow’s (RSG) newest line—Badass Glitter Liner, an eyeliner line composed of colorful, glittery choices, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle asked fashion designer Happy Andrada about the beauty and fashion trends everyone should watch out for this year. And here are her insights:
- Bold, fearless eye makeup
Due to facemask, the eye area is the only part of our faces that is visible. With that, Happy says that there will be a demand for colorful eye makeup styles this year.
“With pandemic right now and everyone’s wearing mask, the eyes are really doing the talking,” she says. “Bold, fun, and fearless eyeline topped with eyeliners.”
For those who are not used on using colorful eye makeup, Happy, generously shares some tips. “Experiment. Try something new, be bold,” she continues. “If you’re not used to using bright makeup, compliment your nude eyeshadows with bold glittery liners. It’s already a perfect statement as is and it’s perfect from day to night look as well.”
- Oversized, fun prints
When it comes to fashion and style, the Happy Andrada Fashion Art Atelier owner says that oversized shirts will be on top, as well as the boho style.
“Big trends for spring 2021 are oversized me—oversized tops, blazers, trousers, and shoulders,” she shares. “Fun colors and prints from boho, retro to florals. Classics are never out of style. Skirts from a line to pencils.”
To slay this fashion trends, Happy has a key pointer. “Compliment fashion with makeup, use coordinated or complimenting colors—like a liner with a pop of color,” she says. “Ready Set Glow liners are perfect for this.”
The Badass Glitter Liner are available in four colors namely glittery gray, orange sparkle, pink diamond, and hazel dazzle. This also comes in white-color graphic liner.
“The situation with the pandemic is really gloomy. But make an effort to have a mood booster with makeup,” she says. “You can slay the trend by being fearless and bold. Experiment and have fun with makeup.”
