
The celebration of the National Women's Month extends to esports as Nexplay Esports showed its support for women empowerment by unveiling its all-girls League of Legends: Wild Rift team.Â
One of the renowned esports organizations in the country, NXP revealed its Nexplay Tempest Wild Rift squad bannered by an all-female roster which was formed through a rigorous three-day tryout.
"More than ever, women in esports play a vital role in the whole gaming ecosystem," said Nexplay Esports founder and CEO Gabriel Benito.
"With Nexplay Esports, establishing a fresh new approach in building an all-star, all-girls team, we not only look at the competitive aspect of esports but the wider spectrum that includes the fun, entertainment, and business side that merits both the fans and the brands," he added.
Serving as the attack damage carry (ADC) is Chabi "Chabi" Doble while her supports on the Dragon Lane are Gia "Jeeya" Llanes and Stephany Kate "Stephsu" Bergado.
Completing the team are mid laner Jasmin "Penguw1n" Matunan, jungler Angel Danica "Angelailaila" Lozada and baron laner Christine "Rayray" Natividad.
All of them have top-notch experiences in other esports titles with various teams.
NXP Tempest will look to replicate the success of its male counterpart in the growing competitive scene of Riot Games' mobile MOBA game.
The all-boys NXP squad recently ruled the Wild Rift Underground for its second straight championship and sixth overall this year so far.
The powerhouse team is set to compete in the Philippine leg of the Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series Preseason this weekend.
