TNT signed Jeremiah Gray to a one-year contract to play for its squad in the inaugural PBA 3x3 competition.
Team manager Gabby Cui confirmed Friday, March 19 to signing of Gray, who will suit up for the Tropang Giga in the half-court discipline after being declared ineligible in the recent PBA Rookie Draft due to incomplete documents.
Gray was one of seven players born outside of the country who was not able to submit a Department of Justice certificate and Bureau of Immigration affirmation as prescribed by the PBA in order to be eligible for the draft.
The former Mighty Sports Philippines and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas cager was projected to be a mid-to-late first round pick before failing to meet the PBA deadline to submit the two required papers.
He is expected to use the 3x3 stint to hone his skills while also working on fixing his papers in order to become eligible for the 2022 Draft.
TNT’s signing of Gray came hours after Meralco announced the inclusion of Jason Brickman for its 3x3 squad.
Like Gray, Brickman failed to enter the Draft due to incomplete requirements.
