The local task force against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) of the Malabon City government has prohibited dine-in options in its public and private markets to lessen the risk of virus transmission in the city.

Under Resolution No. 28, the local government will temporarily prohibit dine-in services of food establishments until April 3, 2021.
Mayor Lenlen Oreta on Tuesday, March 16, said the move was made to prevent the "gathering of people," "communal use of utensils," "droplets when eating," and "absence or lack of ventilation in food establishments."
Recently, Oreta signed an ordinance prohibiting the retail sale of alcohol and limiting the time of operations of sari-sari store and market vendors.
He also ordered the closure for two weeks of gyms, spas, and internet cafes in the city.
As of 5 p.m. on Monday, March 15, Malabon has 651 active cases of COVID-19.
