KCC Philippines to give away P40,000, hold K-pop dance tutorial

The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines’ 10th year anniversary kicked off this March and it started the celebration with informative K-content, contests and big prizes.

Amid the ongoing pandemic, KCC is holding activities and events online for K-culture enthusiasts.

K-Pop Dancing Diva Dasuri Choi will be taking the KCC dance stage as part of the “K-Dance Power Up!”

The online dance tutorial will feature the most requested songs on KCC’s social media account. These are EXO’s “Obsession,” TWICE’s “I Can’t Stop Me” and IU’s “Celebrity.”

Besides learning the K-pop moves, randomly selected participants have the chance to participate in an exclusive online dance clinic to be facilitated by Dasuri herself.

Others have the chance to participate in the K-Dance Power Up! Quiz wherein they have the chance to win special KCC prizes.

KCC also launched its first-ever logo-making contest. The “Kreation: KCC PH’s 10th Anniversary Logo-making Contest” is an online event aiming to serve as a platform for Filipinos to showcase their creativity and love for K-culture and KCC through artworks.

Contestants will be working on the theme “10 years of KCC” in creating the logo and their entries will be judged by representatives from the Bonifacio Art Foundation, University of the Philippines Korea Research Center and iAcademy.

The winner will take home P40,000 in cash and his work will be used as KCC’s official 10th-year anniversary logo that will be incorporated in all promotional and event materials related to the anniversary and in the anniversary video that is slated to be released in July.

Meanwhile, KCC’s Kolorful Adventures this year will bring traditional Korean culture to the new generation to appreciate and learn from. Korean martial arts will be the highlight this March on KCC’s social media accounts wherein the center will be sharing notable history, basic tutorials, unknown facts and techniques for those who have been wanting to learn about taekwondo, ssireum and taekkyon at home.
