Hontiveros under self-quarantine after contact with COVID-19-positive person
Senator Risa Hontiveros on Tuesday, March 16 confirmed she is currently on self-quarantine after she came into contact with a person who later tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a virtual forum, Hontiveros said she will abide by doctors’ advise and undergo a 14-day quarantine even after she tested negative to COVID-19 infection. According to the senator, she was exposed to a host of a show who tested positive of COVID-19 on March 12. The show was held on March 5 and tackled Women’s Month issues.
Senators who have tested positive for COVID-19 were Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, Senators Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Monday placed the Senate on a total lockdown after several employees at the Senate lounge tested positive for COVID-19. Several members assigned at the Senate’s bills and index office are also under quarantine.
Due to the lockdown, there would be no plenary session today, Tuesday at the Senate.
