Bohol receives 6,500 doses of COVID-19 for medical frontliners

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has delivered 6,500 doses of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines for Bohol medical frontliners as the government races against time to vaccinate as many health workers amid the rising cases of infection in the past days.

In a statement, the PCG said a total of 5,140 doses of AstraZeneca and 1,340 doses of Sinovac vaccines were received by Bohol's Supply Officer Mr. Alexchito Lupranco at Tagbilaran Port on Sunday, March 14.

The Coast Guard personnel aboard the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) MCS-3005, safely transported the COVID-19 jabs.

“Aside from its available floating assets, the PCG also utilizes its aerial and land mobility assets to support the national government's inoculation drive in critical areas across the country,” the Coast Guard said.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Monday the country is expecting the delivery of around 2.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines within the month.
