
Undefeated Filipino fighter and No. 1 women's atomweight contender Denice Zamboanga is set to face South Korean opponent Seo Hee Ham in the first round of the women's atomweight grand prix in ONE: Empower at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 28.
ONE Championship announced Friday, March 12, the complete opening round for the inaugural women's atomweight tournament along with its first all-female card.
Zamboanga, who holds an 8-0 record, will face the fighter from South Korea with a six-match win streak.
The 24-year-old Filipino earned three victories in ONE Championship against Watsapinya Kaewkhong of Thailand, Mei Yamaguchi of Japan, Jihin Radzuan of Malaysia
Ham, for her part, hopes to continue her winning ways as a newcomer in the Singapore-based promotion.
She has a 23-8 slate and also competed in UFC Fight Night, winning once in three bouts.
Other quarterfinal matchups are Meng Bo of China against Ritu Phogat of India; Itsuki Hirata of Japan against Alyse Anderson of America; Stamp Fairtex of Thailand against Alyona Rassohyna of Ukraine.
Should Zamboanga advance, she will face the winner between Stamp and Rassohyna.
The tournament champion will take a crack at the belt against reigning atomweight champion Angela Lee in November.
Headlining the night will be a world title bout between Chinese star and current women's strawweight queen Xiong Jing Nan and No. 2 contender Michelle Nicolini of Brazil.
