NRX Jeremiah 29:11, NU Anarchy raring to raise PH flag in Garena Invitational

NRX Jeremiah 29:11 and Nifty Ultra Anarchy are both eager to see action and make the country proud in the $40,000 (nearly P2 million) Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) Garena Invitational in Taiwan. 

A direct invite for its achievements last year highlighted by its victory in the World Championship Garena qualifiers, NRX takes on Resurgence of Malaysia later today, March 12, at 10 p.m.

The CGI is the first tournament for the Garena king NRX featuring captain JC "Jayzee" Rivera, Jerrold "Woopiiee" Regay, Kennedy "iDra" Mondoy, Benj "CRUSH" Trinidad and John Kenneth "KenDy" Pimentel under coach Michael "Kyaaah" Belaya since winning the qualifiers. 

NRX played with Warren "WarrenTzy" Jadear taking the active role of KenDy in the ESL MSP Major where they finished runner-up against Divinity.Uprising of Singapore last December 2020. 

"Super excited po kami dahil mare-represent po ulit namin ang Pinas sa darating na CGI (We're super excited because we'll get the chance to represent the Philippines again in the upcoming CGI)," Kyaaah told Manila Bulletin in a quick chat. 

"Unang tournament din po namin 'to simula nung Worlds qualifiers kaya bibigay po namin 'yung best namin para sa Pinas at sa supporters namin (This is our first tournament since the Worlds qualifiers that's why we'll give our best for the country and our supporters)," he added. 

For its part, Garena CODM Philippines Championship winner NU Anarchy tests its mettle against Singaporean powerhouse Almighty (formerly Divinity.Uprising) at 9 p.m.  

NU is bannered by Josh "SMOKE" Videña, Owen "OWEN" Crisostomo, Vince "Demorz" Salaya, Averson "Skerd" Salaya, Jerzen "Aeschy" Espiritu and Saymun "Baymun" Mateo under the watch of team owner Joseph Alejo and manager Arkisha Aragon. 

The up-and-coming squad stunned VVV Esports, 3-2, in the thrilling grand finals of the Philippines Championship held online last month. 

The Garena Invitational pits the eight best teams from the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan in an offline setup that runs today until April 4.
