Song Joong-ki's hit K-drama 'Vincenzo' garners highest rating in 4th episode

Korean star Song Joong-ki’s new Korean drama “Vincenzo” recorded its own highest rating in the fourth episode and maintained its No. 1 position since its premiere.

According to Nielsen Korea, the fourth episode of “Vincenzo” on tvN on Feb. 28 garnered a nationwide rating of 10.125 percent to place first among cable TV shows, and among shows on the same time slot on cable and comprehensive programming TV channels in South Korea.

This is the drama’s highest rating to date and the first time that it posted a double-digit result since its premiere on Feb. 20.

The first episode of “Vincenzo” posted a nationwide rating of 7.65 percent followed by 9.29 percent for the second episode, 8.121 percent for the third episode and 10.215 percent for the fourth episode, all of which ranked No. 1 among cable TV shows.

In the metropolitan area, “Vincenzo” received a rating of 11.2 percent (first place) for the fourth episode after garnering 8.72 percent (first place) for the first episode, 10.2 percent (first place) for the second and 9.34 percent (first place) for the third.

“Vincenzo” also airs on Netflix and according to analytics website FlixPatrol, the drama is 10th among the top TV shows on Netflix around the world in the last week.

In the Philippines, Vincenzo ranked first among Netflix shows from Feb. 22 to 25, No. 3 on Feb. 26, No. 4 on Feb. 27 and No. 2 on Feb. 28, according to FlixPatrol.

In “Vincenzo,” Song Joong-ki essays the role of Vincenzo Cassano, an Italian lawyer and adviser to a mafia organization, who was born in South Korea and adopted by an Italian family. He returns to South Korea after a conflict occurs in the organization. The drama also stars 2PM’s Taecyeon and actress Jeon Yeo-bin.

“Vincenzo” is Song Joong-ki’s second acting project released in February. His movie “Space Sweepers” was released on Netflix last Feb. 5.

“Space Sweepers” placed in the top 10 in 80 countries on Netflix, said Vincent Taewon Kim, director for film and content at Netflix, during the video streaming platform’s “See What's Next Korea 2021” presentation on YouTube on Feb. 25.
