Valentine's Day treat from Viu lets you watch K-dramas with your favorite comfort food

Popular video streaming platform Viu has partnered with Kraver’s Canteen to offer a Valentine’s Day treat for viewers.

For a limited time, Viu-ers can share a photo of their favorite K-drama moments for a chance to win a snack box, P1,000 worth of Korean food for two, or a premium Korean grill set good for a Valentine’s Viu-ing Party!

Entries will be accepted from Feb. 8 to 11 and Viu-ers need to go to Viu Philippines’ Facebook page or Viuniverse Facebook Group for more information. Winners will be announced from Feb. 12 to 14.

Valentine’s Day is near and for Korean drama lovers, here are five shows to give you some “kilig” vibes:

  1. “True Beauty” - Starring ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo, Moon Ga-young, Hwang In-youp and Park Yoo-na, “True Beauty” is based on a Korean webtoon of the same name. It focuses on Im Ju-kyung (Moon Ga-young) and her dual life: the bookworm and no makeup Ju-kyung who loves horror films and metal rock music and the all dolled-up Ju-kyung who is called a “goddess.”

The drama is comedic but it also tackles serious issues such as bullying, mental health and familial misunderstandings.

  1. “Mr. Queen” - “Mr. Queen,” starring Shin Hye-sun and Kim Jung-hyun, starts with Jang Bong-hwan (Choi Jin-hyuk), a chef who works at the Blue House, falling from a high building into a pool. He wakes up in the Joseon dynasty and in the body of Queen Cheorin (Shin Hye-sun. Kim Jung-hyun plays the role of King Cheoljong. “Mr. Queen” has become a hit drama, placing first in the ratings.
  2. “The Beauty Inside” (Tagalog Dub) - In the drama, Han Se Gye (Seo Hyun-jin), a celebrity who always gets into trouble for suddenly disappearing at a certain time each month, starts working as a model for an airline company managed by strict company director Seo Do-jae (Lee Min-ki). They share a secret: Han Se Gye’s overall appearance transforms into different people every month, while Seo Do-jae is unable to recognize people by their physical appearance due to a condition called prosopagnosia (face blindness).
  3. “Emergency Couple” (Tagalog Dub) - Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji-hyo) and Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin-hyuk) were very much in love during their early 20s. They got married despite the difference in their economic backgrounds and opposition from Chang Min’s family. Their financial status led the couple to divorce and found themselves working at the same hospital in the same emergency department as interns.
  4. “Descendants of The Sun” - This tells the love story of the captain of the special forces unit “Alpha Team,” Yoo Shi Jin (Song Joong-ki), and a respected surgeon from Haesung Hospital, Dr. Kang Moo Yeon (Song Hye-kyo). Their career choices and contradicting values keep them apart. The meet again in Uruk as a soldier and volunteer doctor.
